Hello there, this is my kids school!!!

I came across your page after picking up my two daughters (grade one and three) from C.E. Broughton this afternoon. They came out at bell time RUNNING today with so much excitement, telling me about your visit and requesting to look you up so we can purchase some of your books. 

As you know, representation in literature and the world is so important and both my girls were very much so touched and inspired by your visit. The FIRST thing my youngest said to me was "MAMA!!

Her hair looked Just like mine! She was BEAUTIFUL!" And my oldest couldn't wait to share that you were West Indian.

Thank you for the amazing work you do and making two little girls (and I'm sure many many MANY more today) feel very happy, important and seen.

Thank you so much for putting together such a lovely holiday party for the  communities in York Region.  I especially loved the photo booth, what a wonderful way to capture our memories and posing with our very own super heroes, Unity and United was the cherry on the cake. 

It was fantastic to have the community together to celebrate and connect with families in person.  I was talking to moms and met new families and it was so uplifting.  And thank you so much for your generous gifts, my kiddos were so excited. 

The impact you have on the community is really profound and we are so privileged to be included in this event.

Good Day Erica,

I wanted to let you know that our students really enjoyed your presentations yesterday.  I overheard one student say, "I've never seen a black author before" I think she was excited to see someone who looked like her in the role that you represented.  Thank goodness I bought your books before you left as I had children asking for them first thing this morning as the library opened!!

Erica‘s enthusiasm and spirit of excellence is contagious and inspiring! She makes the children light up in ways I’ve never seen before. Her way with words and presentation style is unmatched. I’m so glad my company  hired her for our most recent black history school event yesterday!
